Who we are
Bracing Scoliosis is a space dedicated to spreading awareness about scoliosis and supporting those navigating life with it. Our mission is to empower individuals, whether children, teens, or adults, with the knowledge, resources, and encouragement they need on their journey toward improvement and self-confidence.
This site was founded by someone who has scoliosis herself. After going through bracing and exploring various treatment paths, she created Bracing Scoliosis to be the kind of resource she once searched for: a place full of helpful information, uplifting support, and reminders that you’re not alone.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed, in the middle of treatment, or just looking to learn more, we’re here to walk with you every step of the way.
Disclaimer: Every case is different, so it's important to consult a medical professional or a spine specialist to find the right treatment plan. The information on this site is meant for educational purposes only and should not replace professional medical advice.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide reliable and up-to-date information about scoliosis and its treatment options. We also aim to inspire others with scoliosis through the testimonials we publish on our page. Overall, we are dedicated to helping individuals with scoliosis and their families navigate through the challenges of living with this condition. Through this website, we aim to educate, inspire, and empower our audience to take control of their health and well-being.
Our Hope for Bracing Scoliosis’ Future
Our goal for the future is for Bracing Scoliosis to have a variety of features. We want to publish short stories that inspire adolescents with scoliosis to be confident in themselves. We hope Bracing Scoliosis will contain a library of resources and links to articles about scoliosis and treatment methods. Additionally, we want to implement a blog feature to provide a safe space where people both who do and don't have scoliosis can simply talk about scoliosis. People can share milestones in their scoliosis journeys, stories about their scoliosis, or simply comfort those who are in the midst of their scoliosis journey. Overall, the goal of Bracing Scoliosis is to not only spread awareness about scoliosis but also provide a comfort place to those who have scoliosis.
What Makes Bracing Scoliosis Unique
Bracing Scoliosis is different from other scoliosis websites through its various features. Here are some of its highlights:
Resources About Scoliosis All in One Website
We have a compilation of links to various resources with information about scoliosis so you can have access to it all in one website
Inspirational Stories
The creator of this website plans to publish testimonials and short stories on this page that children, pre-teens, and teenagers with scoliosis will find inspiration and comfort in
A Safe and Encouraging Community
We plan on creating a community forum where people with scoliosis can share milestones in their scoliosis journey and can seek comfort and encouragement from each other
However, you don't need to have scoliosis to contribute to the community forum! Those without scoliosis can still encourage others with scoliosis in this forum and can even become more aware of how scoliosis affects people’s lifestyles
Meet the Creator of Bracing Scoliosis
Hello! My name's Terah, and I'm a teenager with scoliosis. If you read my testimonial, you probably have a gist of my story. However, just in case you haven't, I'll sum it all up. I found out that I had minor scoliosis in my latter years of elementary school. Due to the Pandemic, I delayed getting my yearly health checkup since my biggest concern at the time was contracting COVID-19 and I thought it would be best to limit contact with large crowds of people. A year later, when I did get a checkup at the hospital, I found out that my scoliosis had progressed to almost 40 degrees, which means that I was at risk of needing surgery. However, because I still had some time left to grow, my doctor told me to wear a scoliosis brace instead to prevent my scoliosis from further progressing. Every day, I diligently wore my scoliosis brace for about a year and a half, and the next couple of times I went to the hospital to check on my scoliosis, it turned out that my scoliosis curve had decreased to around 30 degrees! Wow! Wrapping up my scoliosis story with a happy ending makes it seem almost seem like a glamorous fairytale. But it wasn't. It was tough. Physically. Emotionally. Mentally. It was tough. And I'm sure it's tough for other people with scoliosis too. That's why I created this website. Our discussion page is here for those with scoliosis to share their concerns, seek comfort and motivation, or even just rant a little sometimes. Overall, I hope Bracing Scoliosis can build a positive, comfortable, and friendly community for those who do and don't have scoliosis.
